LAN WANGJI canon the slowest of slow burns, exploring deeper into the canon timeline and fleshing out canon events in any order we like; anything post-CQL ending including actually admitting their feelings, long distance pining on either side of the admission, WWX getting hurt and ending up back in Cloud Recesses; any time exploring the Yiling era and the build up to the Nightless City, era-compliant(ish) "texts" from the Burial Grounds, AUs where Lan Wangji visits more, AUs where Lan Wangji chooses to stay; amnesia/memory loss; post-resurrection awkwardness where LWJ knows who he is; solving curses together modern AUs including various slice of life settings or modern settings with cultivation; slow burn online friends for years; meeting overseas as foreign exchange students who lose touch and find each other again years later; they were friends when they were younger and WWX made a Bad Choice and was ostracized from his family then meets LWJ again as adults; mental health issues and ways to cope; LWJ is Famous Profession now and WWX hasn't talked to him in a decade; Lan Zhan but with a motorcycle; shapeshifting dragon!LWJ but modern; bodyguard AU; long distance road trips |

JIANG CHENG & JIANG YANLI canon anything that gives Jiang Yanli more agency and allows her to be a cultivator; any and all fights and arguments with Jiang Cheng, serious or not; Jiang Yanli coming to the Burial Mounds; more secret plotting with Jiang Cheng about WWX "betraying" the Jiang sect; anything in the time after he's been missing for three months; any AUs where JYL lives; arguments and the potential for reconciliation post-show modern roommates! college age dumbassery, moving anywhere overseas together, WWX wants to be a humanitarian and everyone goes with him to keep him from accidentally dying, fighting about the stupid choices everyone is making, family get-togethers, Jiang Yanli trying to teach WWX to cook |

JUNIORS canon being a bad example; staying on at Cloud Recesses to mentor the Juniors in beginner level demonic cultivation (with LWJ's permission); night hunts & rescue missions; definitely not sneaking liquor to anyone anywhere absolutely not; attempts to bond with Jin Ling; attempts to bond with Sizhui; being a super embarrassing dad at Sizhui; being super embarrassing at Jin Ling; just a lot of being embarrassing to annoy all of them modern long-lost guardian figure turned teacher/mentor with Sizhui; reappearing years later and slowly finding out Lan Zhan adopted A-Yuan; music teacher WWX; modern night hunts!! |

OTHER CHARACTERS I don't have a lot of specifics in mind for other characters. For any eras: poor judgement calls with Nie Huaisang or anything post-canon related to his overall involvement, being a pain in the ass at Lan Xichen and somehow bonding regardless, antagonizing Xue Yang, getting to know Xiao Xingchen & Song Lan better, anything with canonmates really. |
